British Residents at the Cape 1795 -1819

British Residents at the Cape 1795 – 1819 was written and researched by Peter Philip. He was born at St. James in Cape Town and educated at the Diocesan College in Rondebosch and at Oxford University. He distinguished himself in the South African diplomatic services and played a prominent role in the Royal Navy during World War II. Peter Philip was president of the Owl Club and vice-chairman of the Cape Historical Society.
