21107 William moved from Scotland to the Cape in 1845 for health reasons and h is report was so favourable that his two brothers soon joined him. After t he brothers returned from the frontier war they purchased the farm Quart el Fontein (Kwartelfontein). The large house accomodated the three brothe rs even after William's marriage but when Malcolm married in 1853 the part nership was dissolved with William and David moving to the Bokkeveld. In 1 860 Malcolm was found with his throat slit: having committed suicide. H is widow Annie sold the farm and returned to her famully in Cape Town
