  1. Born in Middlesex, he was a businesman and widower who sailed from Grav esend on 03 12 1819 aboard the "Chapman" as a member of Bailie's party. T he vessel reached Table Bay on 17 March 1820 and Algoa Bay on 10 April. 2. One source gives the marriage date as 3 September 1821 at Bathurst a nd the register gives 10 September at Grahamstown. It is assumed that t he former is correct and the latter is the date of registration 3. No estate found
