• Notes

  Bertram was born at Table Farm near Grahamstown. He went to at St Andrew 's College. He was a great sportsman representing E.P. in Rugby Athleti cs and Boxing. Later he went to Lancing College in England. He made a gr eat success of ostrich farming at Egerton near Fish River, Cradock. He mo ved to Bedford to be nearer to sport. They farmed at Glen Cliff from 1913 to 1934. Then t hey retired to Bedford. Bertram and Kathleen are both buried at Bedford.
