  Arrived in 1821 (With the rank of Lieutenant) from Arnold in Nottinghamshi re. He sailed aboard the Stentor and first went to the Riviersonderend ar ea with his party before being moved to the Bathurst area. He travell ed to London in about 1823 to complain of Lord Charles Somerset,s treatme nt of the settlers He was the Acting Deputy Quartermaster General during the Sixth Frontier w ar in which he was killed. His name is recorded on the Grahamstown Cenetaph.
