  1. He was in the Bechuanaland Police at the turn of the centuary and trave lled everywhere on foot shooting for the pot. He left a pen knife at one k raal and it was returned to him a year later when he went there agai n. He was a very fine shot in spite of only having one eye. He lost an e ye playing bows and arrows as a boy. 2. He moved to Champagne in 1915 bringing his hunting trophies and lived t here until he died. The last part of his life he was blind and his heari ng was failing. He was a good linguist and spoke Sesuto and Bechuana well. 2. He died on Champagne farm 3. Several sources gives his second name as Bowker but this seems incorrec t
