  Born on board the Carnatic and became a Naval Lieutenant. Arrived in 18 20 aboard the Chapman as leader of his party from London. He surveyed the mouth of the Buffalo River and established East Lond on in 1836 He was drowned while attempting to rescue the crew of the Hector.
