  He sailed from Cork, Ireland in January 1820 Aboard the East Indian as a m ember of the Scanlen-Parker party of 220 Irish settlers. They reached Tab le Bay in April and were taken to Saldanha Bay for settlement at Clanwilli am but were again moved to the Uitenhage area.
