  1. He arrived in Table Bay on 11 03 1818 aboard the "Golden Grove" ex Falm outh and was granted permission to remain in the Colony on 27 04 1818. 2. On 09 01 1819 he was fined for smuggling foreign liquors into tne count ry 3. In 1820 he announced that Rose and Heurtly would be opening stores in S imon's Town in March. 4.
